Zoraida Lopez Photography

A collection of my tumbles, up and downs, and interesting finds... all captured through photography.

Hardcore photographers will go anywhere to get the best shots. My photography class ventured to a farm in El Chipre in Manizales Colombia to take pictures. I must admit I was a little scared of the roosters.

Four days in Medellin

It’s official. I love Medellin. So far I’ve
- Lectured at five schools including a school that is self-governed by the students, a school that focuses on human rights and activism, and a school that promotes the importance of visual art. If only there were more institutions that promote these ideas in the US.
- Attended a hip hop concert.
- Had too many arepas. Yummy in my tummy.
- Drank too much coffee. Cafe con leche too. I’ve been working out though. I brought my “Insanity” workout dvds with me
- Had a blast.

My nephew wishes me good luck on my trip to Colombia…and wants me to bring him back a surprise. -Zoraida

The Little Engine That Could

I must admit, I’ve been feeling like the “little engine that could” lately. I’ve managed some difficult terrain, ups and downs, made some tough decisions, but can see finally the top of the mountain in the not too distant future.  The opportunity to teach photography in Medellin Colombia has taught me to change my thinking from ” I think I can” to “I know I could.”

I’m closing many chapters in my life and and preparing for international travel and adventures. I hope you’ll join me on this journey by following me on tumblr, checking out my photography, and by sending me some good ole’ love and support.

Four days till I leave for Colombia. Next stop Medellin!
